Online meeting held with the members of the UN network for migration

The online meeting has held among the members of the UN Network for migration with the participation of Vusal Huseynov, Chief of the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, II rank state migration service counselor.

Welcoming the guests, the Chief of the Service highly appreciated the efficient operation of the Network and its coordinated support in the field of migration, which contributed to the further strengthening of cooperation in the field of migration between the relevant parties.

Underlying that 2022 is a significant year in terms of the development of dialogue on migration, Vusal Huseynov drew attention to the achievements made in the direction of improving the well-being of migrants as well as promoting inclusion with the participation of international partners. In this regard, he emphasized the importance of cooperation and joint projects with international organizations, especially with UN agencies.

At the meeting, Ms. Vladanka Andreyeva, Resident Coordinator of the UN in Azerbaijan, Mr. Vladimir Gjorgiiev, the head of the Representation of the IOM in the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Michael Newson, the IOM chief expert on labor mobility and social inclusion, and Ms. Anna Prokhorova, an international expert and head of the research group, spoke about migration management within the Network, and shared their views on prospects for joint cooperation

At the meeting, the other issues of mutual interest were discussed.
