Closing ceremony of Twinning Project on “Support to professional development of the staff of State Migration Service” was held  

On March 6, closing ceremony of Twinning Project on “Support to professional development of the staff of State Migration Service” jointly implemented by European Union and State Migration Service was held in Baku.

At the event organized on the occasion of completion ofthe project Deputy chief of the State Migration Service Parviz Musayev notified that the execution of relevant measures on Twinning project which was submitted to the European Commission, with the initiative of State Migration Servicetotal value of which was determined in the amount of 1.050.000 (one million fifty thousand) Eurosand covered the period of 2 years 3 monthsstarted in January 2013 and have continued up today.

Within the past period 53 activities on 4 components were implemented jointly with relevant authorities in migration sphere of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Republics of Latvia and Romania which are members of European Union. It includes trainings, workshops, study visits, quarterly Steering Committee meetings and other activities.

Gratitude was expressed to representatives of 3 countries which were partners of the State Migration Service in the framework of Twinning project – the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Republic of Latvia and Romania and EU Representation in Azerbaijanfor the support in realization of the project.

Director General of Repatriation and Departure Service of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Mrs. Rhodia Maas, Director General of Immigration and Naturalization Service of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Rob Van Lint, Chief of the Citizenship and Migration Issues Department of the Republic of Latvia Vilnis Jekabsons, Department chief of General Inspectorate for Immigration of Romania Octavian Predescu, Program Manager of the EU delegation in Azerbaijan Miguel Margo Gomez made a speech at the event.

Later Chief of the State Migration Service, III rank state migration service counselor Firudin Nabiyev met with participants of the closing ceremony of Twinning Project on“Support to professional development of the staff of State Migration Service”.
